In addition, one randomly selected new player (who has not joined our online circuit events since at least as far back as June of 2025) will be selected to also win a free sealed booster. AND ALL new players (who have not joined our online circuit events since at least as far back as June of 2025) will get a free single copy of a Warlord as well!

Sign-ups: Decklists are due by 10pm EST Wednesday 8/5/26 to the Eagle deck checker (AKA, “Bobby 2.0”). Late signups will not be permitted. You’ll be provided a field to mark your Classy/Turncoat change. Please describe the Faction, Classes and Traits of your Warlord here, regardless of whether or not they changed, for example: “Dwarf Fighter Human Knight” or “Mercenary Fighter/Rogue Sutek Paladin.”

Event Start: Thursday 8/6/25 @ 10 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Format: Saga Edition (5E) ClassyCoats - Axes at the Door. What does all that mean exactly?

You’ll play a standard Saga deck with one exception. Your Warlord must change either their faction or their class!
You must either:
1) select one of your Warlord’s printed classes and change it and (optionally) up to one of your Warlord’s Archetype traits to another class and trait, OR
2) select a new faction for your Warlord, and change any references to its original faction to the new faction, as well as any references to your faction’s corresponding faction-favored trait, to the faction-favored trait of the new faction.
The faction’s faction-favored traits are as follows:
Deverenian - Stormwraith
Dwarf - Barbarian
Elf - Undead
Free Kingdoms - Paladin
Mercenary - Sutek
Nothrog - Siege

Tournament Structure: Matched Swiss Pairs. Rounds will be a 3-per-week format. Rounds will be posted on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays. 5 or 6 preliminary rounds depending on numbers, then cut to an 8-player or 16-player single-elimination bracket, depending on numbers, with play-ins in case of ties.

The Ugly List: The Ugly List will not be active for this tournament.

MRP, Errata and Bans: Deverenus’ Axe is banned. All other Saga cards are legal. (NOTE: To properly input your deck into Untap, you may need to take steps to ensure the Into the Accordlands “ItA” version shows in Untap for cards in the set that are reprints.)

FAQ:
What does it look like to switch a Warlord’s class?
A simple example might be to make Vactus, Spirit’s Champion a rogue. His class would become rogue. He would retain his Background Trait (Orc), and you would have the option to keep his Archetype Trait (Barbarian), or change it to anything else (Scout, Druid, Necromancer, etc.)

Any references to class in the Warlord’s text box are not changed. For example, even if Lord Barrow is a fighter, he can cast a level 1 or 2 wizard spell from the discard pile, not perform a level 1 or 2 fighter action.

If your Warlord has more than one class, like Lord Belasco, you may change only one. Thus, Lord Belasco could be played as a Fighter/Rogue, or Cleric/Wizard, but never as a Cleric/Rogue, since that would require changing both is classes.

You cannot change a draft Warlord’s class, because they do not have a printed class. If you want to play a draft Warlord, you must change their faction. Since Nisha does not have a printed faction or a printed class, she cannot be selected as your Warlord for this event.

What does it look like to switch a Warlord’s faction?
Pick any faction other than the Warlord’s current faction. The Warlord’s old faction changes to the new faction, as well as any references to the old faction. For example, a Deverenian Memoriam would heal and ready Deverenians, not Dwarves.

Additionally, each faction is considered to have a favored trait, that changes along with the faction.

Nothrog - Siege

For example, if Efrim Dawntreader were to become a Nothrog, his textbox would read:
”Your other characters gain +2 ATK and AC while in a rank with a level 4 or higher Siege. Order: Banish target Level 1 Nothrog character from your discard pile: Your target character Journeys.”
He would become a Warlord Character - Human Siege.

If, on the other hand, Annetta Yscar became a Nothrog, her ability would still give characters the Lycanthrope trait, because Lycanthrope is not a faction-favored trait.
