How it works

Every month, the Guardians of the Storm will host a tournament on Discord and Untap. Players will be awarded points based on their results in one unified leader board, with a prize for the winner at the end of the year. Bonus points will be rewarded for results achieved with a Warlord who has not Top 8’d in a recorded Ancients event: see the Ugly Ancients list. Warlords will be removed from the list once they make the top 8 in a monthly Ancients or Ugly tournament. Point are awarded as follows:

  • 3 points for a normal game win

  • 1 point for a normal game draw

  • 10 points for a playoff series win

  • 5 points for a game win in a lost playoff series

  • 1 points for a game tie in a lost playoff series

  • 2 points for a lost playoff series

  • 10 points for winning a tournament

  • 1 point per match win with an Ugly Warlord

  • 2 points for making the playoffs with an Ugly Warlord

  • 2 points for each playoff match win with an Ugly Warlord

  • 3 points for winning a tournament with an Ugly Warlord

The bonus points for Ugly Warlords will put players who use Ugly Warlords slightly ahead of those who do just as well as them with non-Ugly Warlords. For instance, if a player with an Ugly Warlord makes the cut at 3-1-1, then immediately loses, they’ll score 22 points (give or take, depending on match scores), plus 5 points for their 3 match wins and making the playoffs, plus 2 points for losing in their playoff series, for a total of 29. A player with a non-Ugly Warlord who achieves the same thing would score 24. A player with a non-Ugly Warlord who makes it to the semifinals would score at least 34.
